First games for World Cup 2010 are on 11th June. Who has booked tickets already for one of the biggest sports event all over the world?

Seems the first kicks will be exchanged between South Africa against Mexico. A good starter game for the hosts.

Have you people started losing your bets? :P It's still a bit early on with the eliminations still underway.

The game between Netherlands and Denmark was played well. Most unfortunate for the Danes since the Dutchmen continued their winning streak. Well the Dutch were favored in that match even if most people say it was an even game. It didnt look even to me with a 2-0 win.

USA standing in group C

England vs USA - 1:1
Slovenia vs USA - 2:2

Looks like the US team is doing good in the World Cup. Remarkable! USA has never been strong in soccer. I'm not saying they are strong now but to tie it against England that is ranked 3rd or 4th in the favorites list is something.

Surprisingly Germany lost to Serbia 0-1 on their game last 18 June! Then US in a draw with England. Full of surprises.

But it's still elimination rounds so nothing is set. We'll see once we get to the next stage who the strong teams really are for this Wordl Cup.

Round of 16!

Who got in the Quarter finals so far:
Argentina
Germany
Ghana
Uruguay

* Netherlands vs Slovakia - 1:0. Live at the time of this writing. I think Netherlands will win this match. A lot can still happen with over 30 minutes of play.

US had a great run but there luck went out 3 minutes left at extra time.

As you said, Netherland was expected to win that match and they did with a 2:1 win. They're gonna face either Chile or Brazil. I'm betting Brazil wins that game.

3 more spots left for the quarter-finals.

What is wrong with england? They still had good club players even withouth Beckham and Ferdinand due to injurys. They played poorly even against the USA who are ranked 14 overall in FIFA.

Updating the quarter finals for WC, the ff. teams are in:

Spain
Brazil
Paraguay

Quite a bad loss for Japan as Yuichi Komano kick hits the bar. Looks like Paraguay came out the better in the shootout w/c was a first in the WC2010

Matchups are:

Argentina vs Germany
Ghana vs Uruguay
Netherlands vs Brazil
Paraguay vs Spain

Final 8 teams now. Who are you betting for ladies and gentlemen?

I'm looking at Brazil, Germany and Spain as my top 3 picks. I've placed my bets on Spain.

Ouch! Argentina got a tough beating from Germany 4 to nil. Its really embarassing for a top team like Argentina to score not even one goal. Well I'm betting for Netherlands winning the World Cup 2010 even if they may not be as rated as Germany or Spain. Woooo!

Germany vs Spain - 0:1
Uruguay vs Netherlands - 2:3

What happened to the german team? They steamrolled past australia, argentina and england with 4 goals each game. Very strong attack, I think for the entire WC teams. Now they got beaten by spain 1 to nothing.

Looks like they broke down second to the most important game of WC. Tsk, tsk... too bad. It appears spain is gonna be ruling soccer in europe for a while.

That's not the first time it has happened to Germany. From what I read in the previous world cups, they have been eliminated in semi-finals already. Too bad for them. I agree they do have a very strong offense. Also Germany is one of the few teams that has been in the World Cup finals and semi-finals many times. The other team is Brazil and I forget the other ones...
