here are some poker slang that can be helpful to poker newbies

ammunition - Chips (as in i need more ammo)

barnburner - very good hand

bb- big blind

lollapalooza - A freak hand, often five specific, but random, cards, allowed to win once a night

sb-small blind

up scope, upstairs - i raise

some of these are chatspeak...

when i first saw barnburner and lollapalooza on my screen i was really dumbfounded. barnburner sounded something off a car while lollapalooza drew a blank from me...

here are a few more that i found on the interweb:

Alligator blood - Plays well under pressure. "Nerves of Steel".

belly buster - An Inside Straight draw.

big slick - Pocket Ace/King

chameleon Player in a game who changes and varies his style of play from wild and unpredictable to tight and aggressive.

pretty confusing at first! but when you play a lot it gets easier.

I guess this is true with all sorts of games.
