Almost all the other big casino games have tournaments online or otherwise. I wonder if there are tournaments for slot machines as well? How would the tournament play go about?

there are slot tournaments in casinos in Las Vegas, but im not too sure with online ones. this is quite fun actually. my parents used to go to vegas to play slot tourneys. casinos make lots more money during these sorts of events.

pretty basic, everybody is matched to a machine and everybody hopes that their machine gets them the big jackpot. :)

these tournies attract a really huge crowd. most casinos will give out free rooms and still make a lot of cash during the whole shindig. its not only a marketing strategy for the casinos but it provides fun and entertainment for slot machine afficionados too.

slot machines will forever be a casino favorite. more than 50% of a casino's income comes from the slots!!! so imagine how profitable tournaments will be for casinos. they get players, people who stay at their hotel, people who will eat in their restaurants and etc! It doesnt even matter if they give the rooms for free. They make lots of money during tournaments!

Hi JTyler!

From what I've heard, the slot machine tourneys are happening.

Usually it is 2 players against each other and they play their machines with a set amount of credits given to them. It is also timed. So the one who comes out with the best "score" (for the lack of a better term since I can't seem to remember) at the end wins. It's very simple. :)

Speed is your best offense in a slot tournament. Most formats are simple. A number of credits is given to the player with a limited time to play. Since the more credits you use the better your chances at getting a winning spin then you must be fast enough to use up all the credits.

Some Tips:
* Put your hand on the ready for the spin button.
* Avoid comparing score with other players. This will save you time.
* Don't stop and celebrate when you get a winning spin.

Good tip! Though I have not participated in a slot tournament I have seen it happen. the whole floor is electric and everybody is excited. Good athmosphere for a very simple game!
