How true that craps dice used in casinos are always transparent? What is the significance of the dice being transparent. Is this a rule of sorts agreed upon by casinos?

I never notice the dice being transparent. Well I am not a big craps player coz I prefer card games like poker or blackjack.

The transparency has something to do with loading a dice with weights that was commonly used for cheating a long time ago. To show their customers that the dice is not loaded with weights, casinos use transparnet dice. This way everyone can see that there is nothing inside the dice to affect rolling.

That explains it. There is a history to it after all. Thanks for the answer.

they're transparent and red. i guess the red is there to make it easier to read the dots. but yeah, they are transparent. smart way of solving the problem.

That is what I have observed too - transparent and red-colored dice in craps. I always thought the is is because the red color will stand out on a green craps table better. Red is sexy, appealling color too.
