Blackjack = Ace + 10 card (value)

In one deck
Ace = 4
10 card = 4 10s + 4 Js + 4Qs + 4Ks (16)

16/52 x 4/52 = 0.02366 or 2.37%

This is the common computation and I've seen some other calculations with a different mathematical formula that makes the odds worse or better. The numbers change as you add more decks. Every time a deck is added, it lowers your chances of getting a blackjack.

The odds change when there are more than 1 player. When the cards are given the odds change, more so when any player gets a card value of 10 or an ace. They say it becomes very, vary hard to compute for a percentage to get blackjack at that point. That is why most systems to beat the game don't rely on getting a blackjack. That is never a good system to begin with according to pros.

Another computation of getting a blackjack from the first 2 cards I found is like the one below.

Number of Aces = 4
Number of cards with value of 10 = 16

4 x 16 = 64
Total possible combinations of each two cards is 1326 ([52x51] / 2).

64 / 1326 = 0.04826546

This is 4.8265% probability of getting blackjack.
For natural blackjack, the probability is 1.2066% ( 16 / 1326 ).

it depends on how many number of decks you are playing with. In casinos as well as online casinos you can play with anywhere from 1-8 decks.

1 Deck = 4.826546003%
2 Decks = 4.779686333%
3 Decks = 4.76426799%
4 Decks = 4.756596061%
5 Decks = 4.752004752%
6 Decks = 4.7489488%
7 Decks = 4.746768383%
8 Decks = 4.745134384%

...that's pretty consistent. it wont matter then how many decks you play. You still get the same probability of getting a blackjack in blackjack. :)
