I saw a video poker machine that said, "All hands dealt from 52-card deck."

What does it mean?

It means that for every round the computer simulates a 52-card deck from where it will choose the cards to deal for every round.

Let's say the player retains 3 cards, all kings and discard the rest. This means that the player has a chance to get the the last king from the last 2 slots coming in from the remaining 47 cards.

Why 47? Because 5 cards were initially dealt from the deck so 52 less 5 is 47. That leaves the video poker machine to choose only from 47 cards left in the deck and not put in the discarded cards back into the deck or other controls that would lower the player's odds of getting that last king.
